Mellanby Avenue Bridge over canal in Port Colborne closed Friday

Mellanby Avenue Bridge in Port Colborne will temporarily close for maintenance Friday.

St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corp. said no vehicle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed on the bridge during the work.

The bridge, near the city’s fire hall and operations yard, will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The seaway said it will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to the public while it performs preventive maintenance. Bridge closures are subject to change.
