Oyez! Oyez! The Winter’s Gate Barony chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronisms hosted its first-ever Baron’s Ball on Saturday at Tanana Valley State Fair’s George Gasser Hall.
The event featured 15th-century Italian finger foods such as stuffed eggs, round steak rolls, and bite-sized fall squash tartlets, and plenty of minstrel music and dances.
Gasser Hall was decorated with standards and banners on either side. Green (plastic) vines and frilly lace decorated the columns around the dance area.
