Manufacturers, city officials meet for first East Hartford Manufacturers Connecticut Summit

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A meeting of the minds to strengthen East Hartford's manufacturing industry was held at the Wickham Memorial Library on Thursday.

Local manufacturers, city officials and educators gathered to network, build partnerships and share resources at the first-ever East Hartford Manufacturers Connecticut Summit.

"We need to create a natural synergy and getting all of our manufacturers together," said East Hartford Mayor Connor Martin. "In addition to that, from the government and the school side, we look at how can we build a reliable pipeline program, so that we can educate our students and move them through a pipeline that gives them a high paying career somewhere in one of our manufacturers here in town."
