BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Bristol Police Department said a report of a driver trying to pick up a 9-year-old from St. Joseph School being investigated was determined to be a "misunderstanding."
In a release sent Thursday evening, the department said that the vehicle and driver had been positively identified and that the investigation into the incident found "no criminal intent." The department also said that there is not ongoing threat or public safety concern related to the event.
"The staff at St. Joseph School did exactly what we hope every school would do -- they acted quickly and responsibly when they believed a child in their care could be at risk," said the department in the release. "Their actions were appropriate and commendable."
