PHOENIX — Two officers with Immigration and Customs Enforcement have been hospitalized after a car allegedly rammed into their vehicle on Thursday, according to initial reports.
Before the collision, ICE tried to pull over the driver around 8 a.m. in Avondale, ABC15 reported.
The Department of Homeland security told ABC15 the driver and passenger barricaded themselves in side a nearby residence after the crash.
ABC15 reported that the two injured ICE officers are expected to be released Thursday without serious injuries.
The two suspects have not left the Avondale residence as of 3 p.m.
A spokesperson with the Avondale Police Department told KTAR News 92.3 FM that none of its officers were involved or present at the scene as of 3:10 p.m.
