AVONDALE, Ariz. — Two immigration officers were taken to a hospital Thursday after a car rammed into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle in Avondale.
The Department of Homeland Security said ICE officers initiated a vehicle stop in Avondale at about 8 a.m. Thursday and the driver failed to stop and returned to a residence.
Upon arrival at the residence, the vehicle reportedly rammed into an officer's car that was occupied by two officers, DHS said.
The car's driver and a passenger then exited and barricaded inside the residence. Local and federal law enforcement set up a perimeter around the residence and several officers can still be seen in the neighborhood.
