A man is due to face court today after allegedly stabbing another man to death on the southern Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Dutton Street, Coolangatta, just after 1pm yesterday, where a 57-year-old man's body was found with stab wounds.

Police tracked a 27-year-old man to Upper Coomera, where he was arrested about an hour later.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today charged with one count of murder and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police were alerted by members of the public yesterday, who spotted the 27-year-old acting "suspiciously" before fleeing.

It is believed the two men were known to each other.
