Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse is set to host more than ten major cultural events of between 5,000 and 15,000 people each year, in addition to race days, in a bid to inject more than $19 million into New South Wales’ economy.

In a statement confirmed by NSW Premier Chris Minns, the racecourse’s event cap will be lifted to host world-class entertainment in Sydney.

The government aims to transform the prestigious venue into a year-round destination for concerts, cultural festivals, exhibitions, and community gatherings.

The announcement comes after the venue showcased a 50,000-strong crowd at the TAB Everest last Saturday.
