CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland will soon begin fixing up police stations throughout the city that have long sat in disrepair.
The city will spend $21 million in renovations that are expected to begin next month. The immediate focus will be on fixing boilers before the cold of the winter months sets in.
Other top priorities will be fixing leaky roofs, upgrading subpar plumbing in locker rooms and replacing heating and air conditioning systems, which Chief Dorothy Todd said have been dragging down morale.
“These projects are about more than just the brick and mortar,” Todd told reporters Thursday. “They’re about supporting the people who protect and serve every day and ensuring our facilities meet the needs of modern-day policing.”
