OLYMPIA, Wash. — The only statewide ballot measure that Washingtonians will see this election season is an amendment that would allow the state to invest money from the Washington Cares Fund more broadly.
Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 8201 is a constitutional amendment that would give the Washington State Investment Board permission to invest a portion of the state's long-term care services and supports trust fund into private equities and other stocks.
The funds are already being invested in things like bonds and treasury bills, which supporters of Amendment 8201 say limit how much the funds can grow.
