COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -As the government shutdown continues into its fourth week, a Colorado Springs restaurant is stepping up to help federal workers and their families.

Poor Richard’s Restaurant in downtown Colorado Springs is offering free meals and drinks to anyone affected by the shutdown. Owner Richard Skorman says all federal workers need to do is show their government ID, and once a week, they can eat for free at Poor Richard’s or Rico’s Café and Wine Bar.

Skorman said he wants to support families struggling to make ends meet. He ran the same program during the 2019 shutdown, serving about 300 people.
