TEMPLE CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- On the eve of the World Series, you would think Dodgers fan Andy Marquardt would be over the moon with his team just four games away from becoming world champions for the second year in a row.

But it's actually a bittersweet moment.

Marquardt says more than $135,000 in property, including rare sports memorabilia, was stolen from a safe in his bedroom during a break-in last Saturday at his Temple City home.

"If there's one thing that can make me happy, it's to watch the Dodgers continue to play," said Marquardt, who adds that the burglary happened while he was away running errands.

Not only were passports, birth certificates and cash stolen, but several of his most valuable trading cards were taken as well.

"I had a Sandy Koufax card from 1958," he said.
