ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) - With the start of early voting less than a week away, many folks across Monroe County are beginning to take a look at which names will be on their ballot. This election season, many notable local offices will be voted on with quite a few familiar names.

First, every ballot in New York will have an election for Proposal No. 1: An Amendment to allow an Olympic sports complex in Essex County on state forest preserve land. If passed, the bill would allow for skiing and trail facilities to be built on more than a thousand acres of land in the Adirondack region, north of the Lake George area.

In Monroe County, an election will be held for the County Sheriff. Incumbent Todd Baxter is running on the conservative and democratic lines and is unopposed.
