MACOMB – When Xavier Solgot returned home from Michigan Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, last November, he was not satisfied.
One of just a handful of freshmen running varsity for teams in Division 1, Solgot had a very good year for a ninth grader and even made the state finals as an individual qualifier. But with him crossing the finish line in 221st place out of 251 competitors, well let’s just say that he wasn’t just satisfied just being there.
He was disappointed and rightfully so.
“That was fuel to the fire to say it honestly,” noted Solgot at the recent Macomb County Championships. “I was not satisfied with that finish. I was way back. That made me just want to work harder.”
