INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson became the youngest player to reach 8,000 career receiving yards after getting to 40 yards on his fourth catch in Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
At 26 years, 129 days, the star receiver is 168 days younger than Hall of Fame receiver—and former Vikings standout—Randy Moss when he set the record in 2003.
He's also the second-fastest player to reach 8,000 yards, doing it in his 84th career game. Hall of Famer Lance Alworth reached the mark in 83 career games.
The 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year is no stranger to setting records. Earlier this season, he became the youngest player to record 35 career 100-yard games and tied Minnesota native Larry Fitzgerald Jr. as the youngest player to 500 car
