Community members in Long Island City are rallying against a rezoning plan that they believe would worsen gentrification in the neighborhood and drive rent prices up even further.
The city’s rezoning plan, known as the OneLIC Neighborhood Plan, aims to add more housing, some of it affordable and create new public waterfront space.
The plan is expected to be voted on by the full City Council in the next few weeks.
