LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A student-run healthcare clinic is preparing to open its doors to the Louisville community.
The Cardinal Direction Clinic is led by students at UofL’s School of Medicine and will be set up in Holy Name Catholic Church on South Third Street.
Today, SOS International, a global health non-profit based in Louisville, provided essential supplies to ensure the clinic’s success.
WAVE spoke to some of the second-year medical students about why they decided to start this initiative.
“Talking with our faculty learned the value of the interprofessional approach to medicine,” said Clinic Director Caden Seraphine. “We learned that there’s no shortage of inequity in Louisville nor around the world, and the way to address that is not one person doing one thing. It’s a lot of
