OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) -- Effective immediately applications for facilities like rehabilitation centers and transitional housing in Daviess County will not be accepted.

Both the county and the city of Owensboro have voted to impose this moratorium. And it's all in an effort to address the rise of homelessness in the community.

“We're not going to look at anybody who's doing the great things,” Commissioner Larry Condor said. “But it's those that don't pay attention to what their business model is and supposed to be where it's not a burden to those that actually live here.”
