EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) -- In less than 36 hours, dozens of veterans will head to Washington DC for the 19th Honor Flight.
In total, 86 veterans from the area will be on the flight and officials say the government shutdown will not impact their stops.
Tonight they held their annual meet and greet ahead of takeoff at the CK Newsome Center. One veteran who hasn't been to DC since the 90s says he's most looking forward to the vietnam wall.
White says he'll be escorted by his daughter Phyllis and while he's excited he's not looking forward to that early morning wakeup call. Eyewitness News Ann Powell will be on the flight she will have full coverage this weekend on air and online.
