COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio’s GoBus intercity transit network is set to expand in 2026, bringing new travel options from Cleveland to Ashtabula and Toledo, with stops in smaller towns along the way.

The northern Ohio route is one of five being added across the state, funded in part by $3.9 million in federal dollars aimed at improving rural access.

ODOT said these routes will allow thousands more Ohioans to reach jobs, healthcare, and higher education. More than 50% of the current riders are college students, ODOT said.

The statewide program, created in 2010, now serves 36 cities and connects 47 counties. The system has grown from 10,000 annual riders in its first year to over 129,000 in 2024.
