BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — This game will affect the District 5-5A title race when Prairieville takes on Denham Springs in our Football Friday Night Game of the Week.

After a rocky 1–3 start, Prairieville High School has found its rhythm, winning three straight games heading into this pivotal district matchup. Head coach Michael Schmitt said the turnaround starts with leadership — and a quarterback who’s done it all.

“Skylar Kelly, our quarterback, has been phenomenal,” Schmitt said. “If I put him in a room of 20 kids and said, ‘Who’s a thousand-yard rushing quarterback with almost a thousand passing?’ he’d probably be in the lower 20% you’d pick. He’s just quiet, well-mannered, and really been great.”
