Thursday’s night Light the Night event in Cincinnati worked to make a difference for families impacted by blood cancer.

Lights shined bright to remember the people who have been lost, to honor those fighting and to celebrate survivors. Advertisement

Light the Night supports research, patient support and the overall goal of ending blood cancer, with a walk at Yeatman’s Cove.

WLWT meteorologist Allison Rogers hosted the walk again this year.

Each person in the crowd had a story about how cancer has touched them, including an elementary school teacher who is two years cancer-free.

“When they came up with the diagnosis to what I had I'm like... 'Me? I've got cancer?" Nah, I had cancer, cancer didn't have me,” Tonya Howard said.
