No criminal charges will be filed after a 21-year-old Millersville University student was fatally struck by a car earlier this month , police in Franklin County announced Thursday.

The crash, which killed Sydney Barnes , took place around 11:45 a.m. Oct. 13 along the first block of North Antrim Way, Greencastle Police said.

Barnes was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where she died of traumatic brain and facial injuries Oct. 20, according to police and the Dauphin County coroner’s office.

“The Greencastle Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Barnes during this difficult time,” a statement from the police department said.
