(NewsNation) — The makers of the popular video game "PUBG: Battlegrounds" are switching gears and becoming an "AI-first" developer.

In a release, Krafton, the South Korean gaming company, will begin using "agentic AI," an autonomous system that can make decisions, set goals and take actions with little human involvement.

The company announced it is investing almost $70 million to build a GPU cluster, which it says will help expedite the agentic AI features.

An additional $20 million will be spent annually beginning in 2026 to assist Krafton employees in better utilizing AI in their work.

“We will leap forward as a company that promotes the growth of members and expands the organization’s areas of challenge through AI," the release said.
