National Socialist Network leader Thomas Sewell will be allowed to have a copy of Adolf Hitler's manifesto Mein Kampf with him throughout his upcoming hearing for offensive behaviour.

Sewell, 32, faced Ballarat Magistrates' Court in Victoria on October 24, to apply for an adjournment to the hearing, which is scheduled to start on Monday, October 27.

At the hearing, the court heard Sewell previously had a copy of Mein Kampf with him in his cell at Barwon Prison, but it was taken off him when he was moved to the Metropolitan Remand Centre in Melbourne.

Sewell claimed that having the book was necessary for him to receive a fair trial.

He also claimed he needed to have a laptop belonging to fellow Nationalist Socialist Network member Jacob Hersant for his legal defence.
