Jillian Tetzlaff scored two goals as 10th-seeded Toms River North defeated 7th-seeded Middletown South 2-0 in a first-round game of the Shore Conference tournament in Middletown.

Tetzlaff, a senior, has 33 goals on the season.

Layla Hayes contributed an assist as Toms River North won for the sixth time in its last seven games and improved its record to 11-6.

Marissa Henry made 11 saves as Toms River North advanced to face Point Pleasant Boro in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

Middletown South dropped to 8-7.
