Afghan traders are losing millions of dollars everyday due to border closures with Pakistan, despite a ceasefire being declared between the neighbours.

Clashes between the two countries have severely disrupted the crossings, which provide vital trade, transit, and pedestrian links.

Both nations have pledged to respect a ceasefire mediated by Qatar and Turkey, but the borders have remained shut except for Afghan refugees who are leaving Pakistan.

Fazal Mohammad Watan Dost, the Manager of Spin Boldak's District Chamber of Commerce, says vehicles and trucks are parked and stuck on both sides.

The border has been shut for nearly two weeks, the longest closure in several years.
