Folklore-rooted Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1 is still creating a storm at the box office. Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, with Rukmini Vasanth as the leading lady, the film has firmly established itself as a sensational hit.

Today, the makers announced that Kantara: Chapter 1 is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, raking in an incredible Rs. 818 crore – surpassing Bollywood blockbuster Chhaava’s lifetime total of Rs. 807 crore.

Even in its fourth weekend, the movie is holding strong in multiple regions. In Telugu, it has already crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark, proving its pan-Indian appeal.

The excitement isn’t over yet. The English version, set to release on October 31, 2025, could take the film even closer to the Rs. 1,000 crore milestone.
