With a few weeks to go for the Bihar polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a rally in Samastipur on Friday (October 24), addressing a crowd in the home district of one of Bihar’s tallest socialist leaders, Karpoori Thakur. Friday also marked the 101st birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister of Bihar.
The PM visited Thakur’s birthplace in Karpurigram and invoked him several times in his speech. He said the leader was why “people like me and [Chief Minister] Nitish ji, coming from backward and poor families, are on this stage.”
