With just weeks to go before the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections, campaigning is intensifying. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday endorsed Nitish Kumar as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s chief ministerial face, claiming that the alliance under his leadership would break all previous electoral records.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, however, hit back, saying the BJP has no intention of making Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister again.

This is the first time Prime Minister Modi has endorsed Janata Dal (United) supremo Nitish Kumar as the NDA’s chief ministerial face, just a day after the opposition Mahagathbandhan named Tejashwi Yadav as their Chief Minister candidate.
