Saturday was as far in the future Fred McNair was willing to discuss.
In Tuesday’s media availability, Southern’s new interim coach was asked about his goal for the remaining five games. He said that preparing and winning the first game is all that he's thinking about.
“We can talk about that on down the line,” McNair said of the rest of the season. “Biggest thing for us is getting this first one … Make sure that we put them in the best position to be successful on the field during the course of the week, and, of course, on Saturday.”
Southern (1-6, 0-3 SWAC) plays Florida A&M (2-4, 1-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday at A.W. Mumford Stadium. The Jaguars have lost the last five meetings against the Rattlers, last winning 21-14 in 2012.
To break the losing streak, Southern must get their offense
