JENKINS — The Jenkins City Council agreed to a seasonal wage increase recognizing the experience of its public works department during their Monday, Oct. 13, meeting, according to Clerk-Treasurer Cassandra Delougherty.
The city's three public works staff are part time for the city, but full time for the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The city's personnel liaisons recommended a seasonal increase. The council approved an increase approximately half the suggested rate from Nov. 1-March 31.
The council also reviewed a land use matrix recommendation from the planning commission regarding regulation of adult-use cannabis. The commission recommended adding cannabis retail to the matrix and changing the ordinance from requiring a conditional use permit to "permitted use."
