It’s a dry end to the workweek before storms arrive over the weekend. Today, highs will reach the low 80s under a partly sunny sky. The weather remains quiet this evening for any high school football games. That’s another story for Saturday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout most of the day. Flash flooding will be a concern as more rain is expected overnight and into early Sunday morning. We could pick up to 4 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible. There’s also a low-end threat of severe weather Saturday afternoon and overnight. Damaging wind gusts, hail, and an isolated tornado are all possible. Drier weather returns early next week with highs in the mid to upper 70s. A cold front on Tuesday will cool us down into the 60s on Wednesday and Thursday.
