BEMIDJI — Watermark Art Center will open its annual "It's Only Clay" exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, and will remain on display through Dec. 23.
According to a release, "It's Only Clay" is a national juried ceramics competition focusing on, and dedicated to, functional clay vessels. Each submission for IOC is judged in four areas: function, form/aesthetic, craftsmanship and surface design.
Selected works from the 2025 submissions — as well as work by special guest artist and juror Nick DeVries — will be on display as part of the IOC exhibit. Awards and presentations with DeVries will take place at 5:30 p.m.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, DeVries will lead a hands-on workshop where participants will learn techniques and processes to build interesting textures and
