Supporters of a second effort to nullify a Yucaipa ordinance that rezoned over 1,000 acres for warehouse development said they have collected more than 5,000 signatures from voters in favor of putting the matter on an upcoming ballot.
Members of the Yucaipa Neighbors Opposing Warehouses , a coalition of residents, say they gathered and filed the required signatures for a second ballot initiative at the City Clerk’s Office on Monday, Oct. 20.
Upland-based campaign consultant at Vantage Campaigns, Chris Robles, who is working with the group, said by phone that the “community is activated.” In a news release, Robles said the group “submitted 5,232 signatures, far surpassing the 3,617 required by law.”
The group seeks to overturn an ordinance, unanimously approved by the Yucaipa City
