LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A 12-year-old Grand Ledge boy died when a vehicle traveling east on Willow Highway struck him as he rode a bicycle near the I-96 interchange in Delta Township late Thursday, the Eaton County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection at about 11:30 p.m. for a serious-injury crash. Deputies determined "a vehicle traveling eastbound on Willow Highway had struck a 12-year-old boy from Grand Ledge, who was riding his bicycle," according to the sheriff's office.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
