EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — EVPL East and EVPL West are set to receive $10,000 each from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
This announcement was part of the Carnegie Libraries 250 initiative, which honors the role of Carnegie Libraries in the United States.
Scott Kinney, CEO of EVPL, expressed pride in the libraries' continued service.
“This gift honors the history of Carnegie Libraries and the role they have played in communities nationwide for more than a century,” Kinney said.
Dame Louise Richardson, president of Carnegie, emphasized their founder's vision.
