Alaska Airlines was forced to ground all flights after experiencing an IT outage on Thursday night, the company announced on X .

“An IT outage has affected our operations and has resulted in cancellations of some of our flights this evening and into tomorrow,” the airline wrote on Thursday. “We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you check your flight status before heading to the airport.”

The airline ordered a ground stoppage that began at around 7:20 p.m. Thursday night and was lifted at around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The ground stoppage resulted in 229 flight cancellations, and is likely to cause additional disruptions, according to the airline .
