A determined Teessider who suddenly collapsed and spent nine months unable to leave the house unaided has completed a 22k trail run. Stephen Elliott-Wright, 65, collapsed unexpectedly three years ago and was diagnosed with postural tachycardia, a condition which causes sudden heart rate increases.

For nine months the Middlesbrough man was unable to leave the house alone. But, through strong will he recently completed the Two Valleys Trail 22km race.

He joined a team of 25 athletes and adventurers as part of a campaign to help over-50s achieve their goals and tick off their bucket lists. A retired HGV driver from Nunthorpe , Stephen's medication, determination and sheer passion for running, helped him fight his way back to health and doing what he loves.
