BRIDGEWATER, Mass. —

Bridgewater State Hospital asked a Massachusetts judge for more time to complete murder suspect Brian Walshe's mental health evaluation.

The Cohasset father is accused of killing and dismembering his wife, 39-year-old Ana Walshe, around New Year's Day in 2023. He faces charges of murder, misleading a police investigation and improper conveyance of a human body.

At one point, Brian Walshe's trial was expected to begin this week . It is now scheduled to begin in mid-November, although that could change again.

Judge Diane Freniere initially ordered the 20-day examination at Bridgewater State Hospital earlier this month. Defense attorney Larry Tipton told the court that Brian Walshe's mental and physical health has declined since he was attacked in jail and he is
