Metro Vancouver residents are being warned that the power could go out as a storm hits B.C.’s South Coast Friday.
Power outages are possible from tree damage due to strong winds gusting up to 80 km/h, Environment Canada said in a special weather statement posted early Friday.
The alert added that travel may become difficult because of water pooling on roads, poor traction from fallen leaves and reduced visibility in heavy rain.
The federal weather agency warned that localized flooding could occur and urged residents to watch for rapidly rising river and stream levels.
