: Arts and Culture Minister Sanbor Shullai has stressed that conversion to Christianity does not mean that one cannot participate in indigenous cultural practices.
He made this statement after attending the Meghalaya Tribal Indigenous Choir Festival organized by the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) in collaboration with the Shillong Public School and supported by the Department of Arts & Culture here on Friday.
Shullai pointed out that in several states in the northeast, including Nagaland, Mizoram, and Meghalaya, Christians and non-Christians alike participate in preserving and promoting indigenous cultural festivals and traditions.
