A family who suffered an unimaginable loss is keeping their loved one’s legacy alive by doing something positive in the community.
Lisa Hanlon lost her 25-year-old son, Maxwell Canning, in a workplace road accident that claimed his life and that of two other people in June of 2022.
Hanlon says each year around his birthday his family has made a $500 donation to Octagon Pond Elementary which Maxwell’s niece and nephew attend.
In the past they’ve donated books to the school library, and have also presented gift packages to students who have birthdays around Maxwell’s October 25th birthday.
This year, says Hanlon, when word got out about the family’s plan to make another donation to the school, the donations started pouring in, and this morning, they made a $2,500 donation to the school’s
