LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — No one was injured after a pilot made a "precautionary landing" of a plane in a Lenawee County field Friday morning, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said a Piper Cherokee 6 single-engine aircraft with only the pilot aboard was flying from Indiana to Toledo Suburban Airport before 10:45 a.m. when the plane began to experience mechanical issues.
According to the sheriff's office, the pilot, identified as a 51-year-old Toledo man, decided to conduct the landing in a field south of US 223 in Palmyra Township. The sheriff's office said the pilot was uninjured and "in good health."
The sheriff's office said it is working with the Federal Aviation Administration in investigating the incident.
