SWANTON, Ohio — Residents in Swanton say a rural intersection where Lucas and Fulton counties meet has become increasingly dangerous, and they’re calling on local officials to take action before more crashes happen.
Residents who live near the County Road D and Sherman-White Road intersection say crashes there have become all too common. They also say it’s unclear who’s responsible for fixing the problem, since one side of the street falls under Lucas County and the other under Fulton County.
“It’s just a dangerous corner,” said Carol Horen, who has lived in the area for 44 years.
Horen says she’s seen fires, deadly wrecks and an increase in traffic over the years.
“It wasn’t like this when I moved here,” she said. “But over the years this road has gotten busier and busier and busier.”
