The Green Party of Santa Barbara County is endorsing former vice-presidential candidate Dr. Butch Ware for California governor in 2026.

California is the fourth largest economy in the world, yet Californians face the intensifying challenges of housing, healthcare, homelessness and a widening economic disparity. It’s clear that business as usual is no longer an option.

Ware is a renowned historian and public scholar and is currently an associate professor of Islamic studies at UCSB, living in Santa Barbara with his wife and son.
