Mike Georgi wants to give back to the community he calls home, so he’s running for Kamas City Council.
Georgi graduated from South Summit High School and spent the early years of his career working for the Kamas City Police Department, a job he accepted after struggling to balance college courses and a full-time job in Wyoming.
“It got to the point where I was the only one there, and the call volume was just too much for me,” he said. “I was getting called all the time, so I left law enforcement and went to build custom log homes.”
He eventually returned to law enforcement and retired after 20 years with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in 2018, but he never forgot how the City of Kamas supported him as an employee and a young adult.
