The back-to-back with the Buffalo Sabres this weekend will have no shortage of lineup intrigue for the Maple Leafs:
NEWS: Before the series got under way Friday at the KeyBank Center, Toronto coach Craig Berube told media at the morning skate he was replacing the goal-challenged Nick Robertson for rookie Easton Cowan.
VIEWS: Robertson was certainly next in line to take a seat after opening the season with one assist in seven games. That’s not good for a hard-shooting, goals-oriented winger and underlines frustrations the Leafs have with him after a strong camp re-energized both himself and the club’s faith. Robertson has had at least a shot on goal every game, but has failed to match his opening night four against the Canadiens.
