A Morris County teacher was arrested for alleged inappropriate text conversations with a teen and former student, authorities said.

Lorri Ann Willis, 45, of Hackettstown, was charged Oct. 20 with endangering the welfare of a child and luring, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said in a press release Oct. 24.

Earlier in October, the Chester Police Department received a report of alleged inappropriate behavior by a teacher employed by the Black River Middle School. According to the Prosecutor's Office, Willis is alleged to have sent sexual and suggestive text messages to a 13-year-old child, who was formerly her student from June 2024 through October 2025.
