Vancouver Island has been dubbed “North America’s Leading Honeymoon Destination” for 2025 by the World Travel Awards.

The awards were announced earlier this month, and humble Vancouver Island beat out larger destinations like Las Vegas, Nevada – Miami Beach, Florida – and the only other Canadian destination on the list, Niagara Falls, Ont.

The Island even beat out Maui, Hawaii, which took home the title 11 times in the past 16 years.

Vancouver Island wasn’t alone in its recognition on a continental scale.

British Columbia as a whole was named North America’s Leading Regional Destination for 2025 by the World Travel Awards.

It beat out other regions like California, Colorado, Florida and Quebec for the title.
